Riemannian Manifolds and Homogeneous Geodesics
Original price was: ₹13,852.00.₹11,082.00Current price is: ₹11,082.00.
This book is devoted to Killing vector fields and the one-parameter isometry groups of Riemannian manifolds generated by them. It also provides a detailed introduction to homogeneous geodesics, that is, geodesics that are integral curves of Killing vector fields, presenting both classical and modern results, some very recent, many of which are due to the authors.

Riemannian Manifolds: An Introduction to Curvature
Original price was: ₹6,863.00.₹5,491.00Current price is: ₹5,491.00.
This book is designed as a textbook for a one-quarter or one-semester graduate course on Riemannian geometry, for students who are familiar with topological and differentiable manifolds. It focuses on developing an intimate acquaintance with the geometric meaning of curvature. In so doing, it introduces and demonstrates the uses of all the main technical tools needed for a careful study of Riemannian manifolds. The author has selected a set of topics that can reasonably be covered in ten to fifteen weeks, instead of making any attempt to provide an encyclopedic treatment of the subject. The book begins with a careful treatment of the machinery of metrics, connections, and geodesics, without which one cannot claim to be doing Riemannian geometry. It then introduces the Riemann curvature tensor, and quickly moves on to submanifold theory in order to give the curvature tensor a concrete quantitative interpretation. From then on, all efforts are bent toward proving the four most fundamental theorems relating curvature and topology: the Gauss–Bonnet theorem (expressing the total curvature of a surface in term so fits topological type), the Cartan–Hadamard theorem (restricting the topology of manifolds of nonpositive curvature), Bonnet’s theorem (giving analogous restrictions on manifolds of strictly positive curvature), and a special case of the Cartan–Ambrose–Hicks theorem (characterizing manifolds of constant curvature). Many other results and techniques might reasonably claim a place in an introductory Riemannian geometry course, but could not be included due to time constraints.

Shapes and Diffeomorphisms
Original price was: ₹9,681.00.₹7,746.00Current price is: ₹7,746.00.
This book covers mathematical foundations and methods for the computerized analysis of shapes, providing the requisite background in geometry and functional analysis and introducing various algorithms and approaches to shape modeling, with a special focus on the interesting connections between shapes and their transformations by diffeomorphisms. A direct application is to computational anatomy, for which techniques such as large‒deformation diffeomorphic metric mapping and metamorphosis, among others, are presented. The appendices detail a series of classical topics (Hilbert spaces, differential equations, Riemannian manifolds, optimal control). The intended audience is applied mathematicians and mathematically inclined engineers interested in the topic of shape analysis and its possible applications in computer vision or medical imaging. The first part can be used for an advanced undergraduate course on differential geometry with a focus on applications while the later chapters are suitable for a graduate course on shape analysis through the action of diffeomorphisms. Several significant additions appear in the 2nd edition, most notably a new chapter on shape datasets, and a discussion of optimal control theory in an infinite-dimensional framework, which is then used to enrich the presentation of diffeomorphic matching.

Sobolev Spaces on Riemannian Manifolds
Original price was: ₹3,426.00.₹2,742.00Current price is: ₹2,742.00.
Several books deal with Sobolev spaces on open subsets of R (n), but none yet with Sobolev spaces on Riemannian manifolds, despite the fact that the theory of Sobolev spaces on Riemannian manifolds already goes back about 20 years. The book of Emmanuel Hebey will fill this gap, and become a necessary reading for all using Sobolev spaces on Riemannian manifolds.

Space-Time Algebra
Original price was: ₹12,809.00.₹10,248.00Current price is: ₹10,248.00.
This small book started a profound revolution in the development of mathematical physics, one which has reached many working physicists already, and which stands poised to bring about far-reaching change in the future.
At its heart is the use of Clifford algebra to unify otherwise disparate mathematical languages, particularly those of spinors, quaternions, tensors and differential forms.

Stochastic Geometry: Lectures given at the C.I.M.E. Summer School held in Martina Franca, Italy, September 13-18, 2004
Original price was: ₹4,986.00.₹3,989.00Current price is: ₹3,989.00.
Stochastic Geometry is the mathematical discipline which studies mathematical models for random geometric structures, as they appear frequently in almost all natural sciences or technical fields. Although its roots can be traced back to the 18th century (the Buffon needle problem), the modern theory of random sets was founded by D. Kendall and G. Matheron in the early 1970's.
